LAKE
BLUE
'Lake Blue' | 108" x 54" | wool, silk and foraged colour
A living architecture and an abstract and tactile love letter to Lake Ontario, Lake Blue was built by hand using raw local wool, Lake Ontario water, and plant essences from indigo, weld, and walnut. Its colour and energy, inspired by the cool hues and depth of our great lake, draw you into a still, dark pause: a place of introspection, receptivity, and femininity.
"Bodies of water are the domain of the unconscious, dreams, and body knowing"
- Lorie Eve Dechar
Lake Blue kicked off its journey as part of the 2022 DesignTO festival in Toronto and won Best in Festival | window installation, as well as the Emerging Artist/Designer award. An incredibly beautiful beginning!
